hmm back for about 3 days ready.. funny how i don’t feel like blogging once im back, since there’s so many things to do and so many ppl to meet and spend time with. oh wells, will be seeing most of you soon anyway!! ciaoz

last day i’ve finally come to the end of my excha…

i’ve finally come to the end of my exchange stint here in toronto. funny how you’ve missed home all these times and when its really time to go back, a certain part of you feels sad to leave. i’d definitely miss the times spent here, the cold weather , the kam ja dang (korean pork bone soup), the hanging out together with your apartment mates. but i guess it’s just another chapter of my life, and it has come to a close. i guess all that’s left to do now is to look forward to resuming the life that i have left back in singapore.

aniwei the nyc trip was great fun! was really good to see hua hui and kai after so long. plus i manage to catch my first broadway musical.. in broadway itself! wheee!! yeah we watched chicago, it was really good, definitely better than the movie (ok that was a dumb statement).

im now packing my stuff to return home, freaking alot of things lar! shud haf thought it thru before i bought all the stuffs… grr… alrites that’s all for now, the nxt time i post will be back in sunny (AHHH!!!) singapore..

so in closing, i shall say, goodbye toronto , hello singapore!

back from the mighty slopes of mt tremblant!! i have finally learnt the art of carving (heeling and toeing) the slopes!! muahahaha.. at least i didn’t waste my time there.. yupps, reached back about 1230am to find a barrage of ppl in our apartment, and there are still quite a number of ppl left (that’s what happen at year end when an apartment is convenient to host friends who are homeless or do not wanna spend money on accom).. i haven’t slept since 8am in the morning (time now is 0630) and im feeling damn high from lack of sleep.. anyway will be leaving for NYC (again?!!) in 2 hrs, sooo yeah just thought i’d drop a little update here..

meanwhile, i juz realised indie boy posted twice on my behalf, this realisation came after i visited my own blog 3 times, i didn’t really bothered cos i thought those post were my old post.. hmmm thanx indie boy for keeping this space alive.. could sure use some help for the nxt couple of days too..

i’m sorry i was not able to fill napkin man’s space with the wonderful things i said i would fill it up with. you see, indie boy has had to grapple foot and limb with the giganorama octopus of emo-death and has survived with minor burns, bruises and cuts. save for some demented thinking, indie boy is busy preparing the next wave of attacks despite napkin man’s challenge with the overhuge-astic white mountains of doomsday devices.. outrageous as it may seem, napkin man the stubongz will best the balrog of white mountain and come back as the white napkin.

hmmm getting the pre last exam jitters.. you know the one where u are so excited about ending that u don’t really care if u do well or fail (ok actually i do care if i fail) and all you can think about is the fun times ahead?? yeah we’ve finally come to that. tmr after the paper which ends @ 11am, i’ll take a nice walk down to the bank, close my account, come back pack my bags and get ready to go snowboarding.. whee!! can’t wait.. kz i really hope i’ll be able to get to sleep tonite.. and then also have some miraculous power to answer every damn question in the paper tmr.

wheres has all the holidays gone??

the buzzword around students nowadays is internship. for as long as i know, internships were done only becoz it was part of the curriculum. then there were those who did it because it wasn’t part of the curriculum, and they fear they might miss out on an edge, which is fine ,cos this only nullifies everybody else’s internship stint (level playing field) .. then came the pioneer batch of ppl who decided to spoil market and decided to do extra internship stints so that they can up their resume. and becoz of that pioneer batch of ppl, now everybody’s doing extra internships as if its the norm. and hence put poor ppl like me at a disadvantage.

my personal philosophy has been and always will be: you’ve got your whole life ahead to slog and work, why you wanna go use up your holidays??!! esp for us uni ppl, its the last ever we will ever have a long long break at a go… i say pack up, and travel see as much as the world as possible. easy to say huh? of cos need money rite?!! soo work for the money lar (part time jobs, sell backside, whatever!) internships usually don’t pay much and require alot of your time.. soo haiz.

at this point you should realise ppl like me don’t go far in life.. my future’s probably a 3 room hdb flat with 2 kids, and we struggle to make ends meet.. and prolly cursing myself over why i din invest my time properly when i was younger… well.. *shrugs* at least im enjoying my bum life while i can… n hopefully find something ‘worthwhile’ to do meanwhile.. like err play dota or something.. yeah enrichment..

yeah this post is not to encourage or discourage ppl to take up internships .. as long as you’ve got a plan… that’s already alot of respect ya gonna get from me.. just thought i’d offer another view into this thing we call life… meanwhile i’ll just look forward to my internship stint (curriculum ahh..don’t point finger) at dsta.. yeah looking forward to being work like a dog with a measley pay… just hope they don’t make me wear my number 4 uniform to work everyday manz…
