the cold weather hurts my hip

woke up feeling damn nua today, i think i kanna burnt out from the first 2 days of school liao. anyway, so dragged my lazy ass out to meet some of the hong kong friends we made yesterday at the international students event.

it turned out to be quite an exciting day afterall, barely walking for 15 mins, we bumped into a first ‘parade’ thingy, some taoist tai chi association celebrating something i think, i dunno isit a protest or a parade, but its quite cool (actually what was more cool was the day before the major roads of the city were closed to let the U of T sutdents freshies do a march past.. freak, din get to see that, cos i had lessons!! bahhh) so anyway.. here are some of the pics:

so we had lunch and walked all the way down to the waterfront, its really a very nice place, there’s this park and all, and the view is quite nice.. anyway this is the nicest pics i can find..

and the highlight of it all was when we walked to the rogers centre, i think there was a football (american kind) match that just ended, then there were loads of ppl and everybody was super high, we just followed the crowd as they walk.. there was this band (marching band kind) along the way and they were playing songs, n ppl were dancing and clapping and cheering.. the atmosphere was just super awesome lar, i mean outside the stadium is like that, i cant imagine being inside!!

they were playing ‘then i saw her face, now im a believer’ song..

finally, immediately after that high, we chanced upon a deonstration, it was quite a sight actually, it was basically an anti china demonstration (cos apparently hu jintao was visiting.. and he was actually at the convention centre we walked past, i think).. yeah there were the taiwanese protesting, the tibetians and lastly the fa lun gongs ..
